I. Prerequisites:
Participants should know the basics of working their camera such as loading memory cards, pulling up histograms and switching shooting modes from manual to AV, etc... Please bring your camera's manual with you to the workshop. If you wish to follow along on classroom techniques bring a laptop with RAW processing and image editing software. Laptops are not mandatory but will allow participants the opportunity to prepare images for our critique session. Film shooters are welcome but photo labs may be difficult to find. If film shooters would like feedback on your photography please bring transparencies or prints from a past project or photo shoot.
II. Workshop Itinerary
The following is a general itinerary but may vary from day to day and from workshop to workshop.
Particpants must arrive at designated airport by 12 noon of the first day of workshop. Our first day of the workshop will be comprise of traveling to workshop location. Transportation will be provided and in most cases be a 8 or 15 passenger van. Sunday thru Thursday - Photograph on location in early morning light and shoot throughout the morning hours. Break for Brunch or lunch as a group and depending on time of year we may take a brief afternoon break. We'll meet for classroom discussion (could be a meeting room or an outdoor location) on issues pertaining to our theme for the workshop and/or creative techniques. Group feedback is a wonderful way to learn and to share. I strongly encourage participants to get involved in the group feedback session. Growth as a photographer and artist comes from listening to opinions from various points of view. Saturday morning we'll end our workshop with a group breakfast and make our way back to airport and arrive around 12 noon unless we other arrangements have been made.
Lots of hands on instruction in the field with short group discussions of various topics dealing with situations, subjects, equipment, etc...
