As a long time photographer and workshop leader (18 years) I take pride in bringing together photographers in a fun and creative environment where participants are put first and learn both in a group setting as well as one on one. Both situations are important, one on one provides each photographer the individual attention they need to better their skills and the group situation allows creative ideas to flourish amongest both old and new friends.
It is my goal to help participants open new approaches to their photography, rather it be creatively or simply helping them simplify their workflow from capture to finished art. Every participant will be challenged in the field from the way they see, think and approach their subjects.
I have had a successul career creating images for many national and international clients and that success was built on years of perfecting my techniques from capture to finished product. I strongly believe a solid approach to the techniques you use to create your images in the field cannot be replaced by computer manipulation. When you create in the field your goal should be a great image and not raw data to manipulate in the computer to create your photograph. Computer manipulation should be for creative expression and not used to hide sloppy field work.
Photographers who join me in 2012 will be introduced to beautiful locations where both traditional and unconventional techniques will be explored for creating imagery in the field. Classroom instruction will open new doors to producing imagery both realistically and illustratively. Participants will be given the opportunity to explore simple techniques in Adobe Photoshop and many popular plug-ins that expand your creative thinking. These techniques will be explored in every workshop and each participant will walk away with new ideas on ways to expand their creative process.
